The Olympiad Diary

The first Open International Biological Olympiad (OIBO) has brought together 75 participants from 15 countries in Sirius: Russia, Belarus, Abkhazia, Armenia, Djibouti, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Cuba, Myanmar, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, the Philippines, and South Ossetia.

Today, the participants of the Open International Biology Olympiad (OIBO) went on an excursion around the Sirius federal territory, visiting the Southern Cultures Arboretum. In the afternoon, the students had a safety briefing and were shown the equipment for the practical round, which will take place in the laboratory and consist of two stages.

The highlight of the third day of the Open International Biology Olympiad (OIBO) was the first practical round. Participants tackled individual tasks covering various branches of biology, including botany and zoology.

Today the participants of the Open International Biology Olympiad (OIBO) had an excursion to the sleigh and bobsleigh track - the only one in Russia that meets the standards of international level competitions.

Participants of the Open International Biology Olympiad (OIBO 2025) tackled the theoretical round, which consisted of 60 Olympiad tasks from various sections of biology: botany, zoology, biochemistry, histology, physiology and genetics.

The main event of the sixth day of the Open International Biology Olympiad (OIBO) was the project round, where teams tackled one of five biological problems. The project round involved sample collection, laboratory analysis, and collaborative problem-solving.

Today, participants of the Open International Biology Olympiad (OIBO) planted a new avenue of magnolias in the Olympic Park, marking the beginning of a beautiful tradition. Teams from Russia, Belarus, Abkhazia, Armenia, Djibouti, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Cuba, Myanmar, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, the Philippines, and South Ossetia each planted their own tree — a living symbol of international cooperation.

The Open International Biology Olympiad (OIBO) concluded with outstanding achievements, bringing together 70 schoolchildren from 14 countries. Gold medals were awarded to Ersultan Kairken and Batyr Erzhanuly from Kazakhstan, Dmitry Ruban from Kyrgyzstan, and Russians Ivan Polyakov, Daria Garshina, Zakhar Degterenko, Alikhan Zhangaziev, and Vera Krasnoperova.
