"It is a great responsibility to represent South Ossetia at such an event. We are the face of the republic, and so we cannot fail, we have to present ourselves with dignity and grace. I think we managed that at the Artistic Presentation of Delegations. We chose the national dance to better present our culture and traditions. Today, all of the participants revealed themselves in a new way: everyone showed their individuality and at the same time presented a piece of their country’s culture in an extremely interesting manner," said Kamilla Guchmazova from South Ossetia.
"Today we presented our traditional Thingyan dance. This widespread folk dance is performed during the eponymous New Year’s Water Festival in Myanmar. I am very proud that the participants from different countries learned about our culture. I want to become a doctor to be able to treat people, so OIBO is an important event in my life," mentioned Yoon Shwe Yee Chit from Myanmar.
Tomorrow the participants of the Open International Biology Olympiad (OIBO) are going to tackle the tasks of the first practical round.
