A Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section is designed to answer the most common questions we receive. If you have a specific question that is not answered here, please reach out to the Organizing Committee directly.
  • Q:
    I don’t have a team. Can I go by myself?
    A:
    No, participation in the Olympiad is only possible as part of a national delegation accompanied by a team leader who is at least 18 years old.
  • Q:
    How many people are there on a team? What is the age requirement for team members?
    A:
    A delegation consists of 2 to 6 participants, accompanied by 1 team leader and up to 2 observers. Participants must be school students between the ages of 14 and 18. Team leaders and observers must be at least 18 years old.

    Can I participate in the Olympiad online?
    A:
    No, all students must be present in person to participate in the Olympiad.

    Where can I find tasks from last year?
    A:
    Task samples from the previous year are available here.
  • Q:
    What languages are used during the Olympiad?
    A:
    The working languages of the Olympiad are Russian and English. Organizers provide materials in Russian, English, and, if required, the participants' national language.
  • Q:
    May we use our phones and other communication devices during the Olympiad? May we bring a camera or an e-reader?
    A:
    Team Leaders will take your phones and communication devices for safekeeping to ensure equal conditions at the Olympiad. After the last round, Team Leaders will return your devices to you. You can only keep devices that do not have internet access.

    Who are the members of the national jury?
    A:
    The national jury is a group of experts comprised of representatives from the national teams. They translate the tasks, re-check the participants' answers, and review the appeals.
  • Q:
    Who is responsible for covering travel, accommodation, and meal expenses?
    A:
    The sending party covers travel expenses for participants and team leaders.
    The Organizer provides accommodation and meals. Participants should bring cash (Russian rubles) for souvenirs and personal expenses. Observers must pay a fixed organizational fee of 70,000 RUB.
