Frequently Asked Questions

  • I don’t have a team. Can I go by myself?
    No. Participation in the Olympiad is only possible as part of a national delegation accompanied by a team leader aged 18 or older.
  • How many people are there on a team?
    A delegation consists of 2 to 6 participants, accompanied by 1 team leader and up to 2 observers.
  • What is the age requirement for team members?
    Participants must be school students aged 14 to 18 inclusive.
    Team leaders and observers must be 18 years old or older.
  • How many teams from one country can participate?
    Only one team may represent each country. The host country has the right to invite two national teams to participate.
  • Can I participate in the Olympiad online?
    No. To participate in the Olympiad, all students must be present in person.
  • Where will the Olympiad take place?
    The Olympiad will be held in the Sirius Federal Territory at the facilities of the Talent and Success Educational Foundation.
  • Where can I find tasks from the previous year?
    Task samples from the previous year are available here.
  • What languages are used during the Olympiad?
    The working languages of the Olympiad are Russian and English. If translations are provided by the national jury, task materials may also be distributed in the national language.
  • Who is the national jury?
    The national jury is a group of experts formed from accompanying representatives of national teams. They conduct the task translation, re-check the answers and appeals of participants of national teams.
  • Who covers travel, accommodation, and meal expenses?
    Travel expenses for participants and team leaders are covered by the sending party. Accommodation and meals are provided by the Olympiad organizer. Participants are advised to bring cash (Russian rubles) for souvenirs and personal expenses. Observers are required to pay a fixed organizational fee of 70,000 RUB.
