Plan Your Visit

Before visiting the Sirius Federal Territory in Russia, you can find useful information about what clothes to pack, which power adapter to bring, visa requirements, and other travel essentials.

Climate

In mid-May, Sochi enjoys mild spring weather with daytime temperatures typically around 20 °C. Conditions can vary noticeably — reaching warm highs of 25 °C in sunny coastal areas or cooling to 12 °C in mountain zones and evenings. As comfort levels depend on personal preference, we recommend versatile packing: bring light layers (like breathable shirts and a cardigan), a windproof jacket for coastal breezes, and waterproof footwear for occasional showers. Don’t forget sunglasses and sunscreen, as the UV index climbs to moderate levels this time of year.
Meals
The host will provide all meals during your stay, with options available for various dietary needs. Please inform us in advance about any food allergies or special requirements.

Local Time
The Sirius Federal Territory follows Moscow Standard Time (MSK, UTC+3) throughout the year without seasonal clock changes.

Power Adapters
In Russia, standard power sockets are Type F (CEE 7/4 "Schuko"), operating at 220V with a frequency of 50Hz. If your devices use different plugs, we recommend bringing a suitable adapter.

Clothes & Dress Code
For different program components, we recommend:

  • Formal sessions: smart casual (e.g., dress shirts, blouses, slacks)
  • Cultural/festive events: cocktail attire
  • Sightseeing: casual comfortable clothing

National traditional dress is always welcome and encouraged.

A basic list of things to take:
- An umbrella/raincoat — the weather can be unpredictable.
- Warm clothing and comfortable shoes with good ankle support — the ride to the mountains and ice skating are planned.
- Casual clothing and underwear.
- Toiletry items (toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, washcloth, shampoo, soap).
- Sunscreen products and lip balm.
- Medications. A medical professional will be on duty around the clock everywhere, but please take with you all prescribed medications, if there are any.

The guests' clothing must comply with the generally accepted standards of business attire in educational institutions.

We recommend against wearing the following items:
- Clothing, shoes, and accessories with sharp or dangerous fittings, as well as symbols of anti-social or informal youth groups, or those that promote psychoactive substances or illegal activities. - Shorts, dresses, and mini-skirts (we recommend lengths no shorter than 10 centimeters above the knee).
- Blouses, T-shirts, or tank tops that reveal part of the stomach or back.
- Figure-hugging pants or skirts.
- Transparent skirts, blouses, or clothing with transparent inserts.
- Low-cut blouses.
- Massive platform shoes.
- Shoes with heels that are too high (we recommend heels no higher than 7 centimeters for girls).

🌟The program will include a creative task where you will represent your country and get to know each other better. You can bring national items/clothing and prepare videos and/or PDF on a flash drive for a presentation.
